The New Braunfels Thunder baseball program is excited to host a series of Fall Skills Clinics for athletes in grades 6–12, open to the public and welcoming all skill levels. These clinics are designed to give players a chance to sharpen their fundamentals, grow their confidence, and enjoy the game in a Christ-centered environment.

October 4 – Defensive Focus

October 11 – Offensive Focus

October 25 – Defensive Focus

November 1 – Team Competitions

📍 All sessions will be held at Camp Comal (1901 Kuehler Ave) from 9–11 AM.

The clinic series will conclude with position tryouts on November 8, giving athletes the opportunity to showcase their growth and prepare for the upcoming Thunder baseball season.

💲 Cost: $35 per clinic, or register for all five sessions for $150. Pre-registration is required (no cash accepted on site).

Meet Coach Jim

Leading these clinics is Coach Jim, a seasoned coach and former standout collegiate athlete who brings a unique blend of playing excellence and mentoring heart.

A dominant high school pitcher at Round Rock with a 0.76 ERA his senior year, Jim went on to play for Rice University under legendary coach Wayne Graham, where he was a four-year starter. His career highlights include leading the Owls in ERA (2.42) as a sophomore and in triples the following year.

Jim’s coaching career is equally impressive. At Second Baptist School in Houston, he helped guide the team to two state championships in three years. Today, he continues to pour into young athletes, blending technical instruction with mentorship to help players grow both on and off the field.

Most recently, Coach Jim led the NB Thunder homeschool team to the 2025 TAIAO Division II State Championship, with the team batting over .500 and recording three shutouts during the tournament.

Coach Jim’s passion for baseball and his dedication to developing young athletes make these clinics an invaluable opportunity for players to learn from one of the best.
