NB Thunder Varsity delivered one of its most complete offensive performances of the season Thursday night, but came up just short in a 12-10 loss to Shiner St. Paul at Shiner Starplex.

Thunder finished with eight hits and nine walks, applying steady pressure throughout the game and responding to deficits with multiple rallies. The team erased early setbacks, took the lead twice and tied the game late, underscoring continued growth at the plate and competitive resilience.

Thunder moved ahead 6-5 in the fourth inning behind a balanced offensive effort, highlighted by RBI contributions from Lily Bailey, Gisi Martinez and a two-run single by Caci Criddle. The team briefly reclaimed the lead in the fifth on an RBI groundout by Ada Dillon.

Facing another late deficit, Thunder responded again in the sixth inning to tie the game at 10-10. Sienna Eisenlohr drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, Martinez followed with an RBI single, and Criddle drew a bases-loaded walk to bring the tying run home.

Defensively, Thunder delivered momentum-shifting plays to stay within reach. Sera Rodriguez threw out a runner at the plate from center field in the fifth inning, and Bella Martinez turned a key double play in the sixth to halt another scoring opportunity.

Criddle and Lu Kusenberger recorded two hits apiece, while Martinez and Criddle each drove in two runs. Annmarie Rusick, Rodriguez and Eisenlohr each drew two walks as Thunder consistently extended innings and forced defensive pressure.

In the circle, Thunder used two pitchers. Kusenberger started the game, and Eisenlohr provided four strong innings of relief, allowing three runs, none earned.

Shiner St. Paul broke the tie in the bottom of the seventh following two walks to secure the win, but Thunder’s ability to compete in all phases highlighted continued progress as the season moves forward.
