Thunder Softball Opens Season with Dominant 14–1 Win

NB Thunder Varsity Softball kicked off their first official game of the season in impressive fashion Tuesday night, defeating Canyon Lake Hawks 14–1 at Canyon Lake High School. The Thunder came out strong from the start, setting the tone early and maintaining control throughout the game.

NB Thunder got on the board in the top of the first inning, capitalizing on early opportunities to bring in the first two runs and establish momentum.

The Thunder offense erupted in the second inning, scoring five runs on five hits. Gisi Martinez put the ball in play to bring in a run, followed by an RBI single from Bella Martinez. Ally Criddle delivered a big moment with a two-run double, and Caci Criddle added another RBI single to extend the Thunder lead.

NB Thunder continued to apply pressure in the third inning, adding three more runs. Bella Martinez drove in a run on a groundout, Ada Dillon followed with another RBI groundout, and Gisi Martinez kept the offense rolling with a run-scoring single to center field.

In the circle, Ada Dillon delivered a strong performance for the Thunder. She pitched five innings, allowing only two hits and one unearned run, while striking out three and walking one.

Thunder’s bats stayed hot throughout the game, finishing with 14 hits. Gisi Martinez, Liberty Lega, Ally Criddle, Caci Criddle, and Ada Dillon each collected two hits for the Thunder.

Run production came from across the lineup, with Gisi Martinez, Bella Martinez, Ally Criddle, and Lily Bailey each driving in two runs.

The Thunder now look ahead to their next matchup as they travel to Tribe Athletics on Friday, carrying early-season momentum after an exciting opening performance.
