Led by Head Coach Glen Kusenberger, NB Thunder Varsity Softball delivered an impressive and complete performance at the TAIAO State Tournament, showcasing their offensive firepower and pitching strength in a commanding win Friday at Franklin Ranch Community Park, securing the program's first-ever title.

Thunder set the tone early. After responding quickly in the opening inning, the offense found its rhythm and never looked back. Ally Criddle ignited momentum with a home run to give Thunder the lead, sparking a surge that carried throughout the game.

The lineup continued to produce in the second inning as Thunder added multiple runs to extend their lead. Lily Bailey highlighted the inning with an inside-the-park home run, while Gisi Martinez delivered a clutch double to drive in additional runs. Thunder’s ability to string together quality at-bats and capitalize on opportunities was crucial in building a strong lead.

The offense stayed steady in subsequent innings, with contributions across the lineup. Bailey added another RBI, and Sienna Eisenlohr came through with an extra-base hit to push the lead further. Overall, Thunder recorded 11 hits, with Ada Dillon leading with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate. Bailey paced the team with three RBIs, while Criddle and Eisenlohr each added multiple hits.

In the circle, Dillon pitched a disciplined and effective game. She threw five solid innings, allowing just two runs—only one earned—while striking out four and issuing no walks. Her ability to throw strikes and control the game pace kept Thunder firmly in control from start to finish.

This performance reflected a total team effort, with strong execution on both sides of the ball. Thunder combined timely hitting, disciplined pitching, and solid defense to secure the win and build momentum throughout the tournament.
