NB Thunder Indoor Volleyball Program

It took just two seasons for the NB Thunder volleyball program to explode onto the national homeschool volleyball scene, punctuated by not one but TWO Division 2 national championships in 2023.  Now no longer recognized as a dark horse, the Girls Varsity and Girls JV Black squads will have their hands full trying to defend their respective titles in 2024.

Rosters for the 2024 season have already been filled.  NB Thunder proudly boasts three high school girls teams, three middle school girls teams, and one boys team, open to athletes in grades 5 through 12.  The next opportunity to be a part of the NB Thunder volleyball program is our spring skills clinics in February.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • An opportunity to experience competitive indoor volleyball
  • Three high school girls teams (Grades 9-12), three middle school girls teams (Grade 6-8), and one boys team (Grades 6-12)
  • A fun and encouraging community of like-minded believers
  • Local and travel teams
  • 3-4 events each week, with every effort to take Wednesdays off
  • An 11-week schedule culminating in late October
  • Primarily local matches against area private schools, charter schools, and other homeschool organizations
  • Opportunity to play in the National Christian Homeschool Volleyball Championship in Lawrence, KS

TRYOUTS

In order to try out for NB Thunder volleyball, the student-athlete must:

  • be primarily homeschooled.
  • adhere to the NB Thunder eligibility requirements.
  • classify by their age on Sept. 1 of the current season.
  • register for placements, typically in May of each year.
  • pay registration cost in full.

NB Thunder is dedicated to providing opportunities to homeschooled students, supported by like-minded families in a Christian environment.

This is competitive "school ball" and we play primarily against other homeschool groups and private schools in the area.  Teams are formed with preference given to building the most competitive teams possible at each division at the time of evaluations.  We make every effort to field as many teams as necessary, confined by the availabilities of field space, the suitability of opponents, and the willingness of volunteers.
